Money Match 2011: Journalists win 4-2!


Published in our special Money Match newsletter of 28 April 2011 - The 38th edition of the Money Match was played on the holy grass of the Amsterdam Arena last Wednesday 27 April. The final score: 4-2 for the team of Reporters with goals by Sonny Duijn (2x) (De Telegraaf), Marten Blankesteijn (De Pers) and Fred Pals (Bloomberg). For the Managers, goals were scored by Arjo Blok (Rabobank) and Rob Spuijbroek (AEGON). This brings the total score to 21 victories for the journalists versus 17 victories for the managers.

 

Drinks after the game in the Royal Loge and the following dinner with fresh asparagus were also great, as were the speeches of, among others, Theo van Duivenbode (coach Managers), Johnny Rep (coach Reporters) and Jan Keizer (referee). Uri Coronel (Ajax) awarded the Money Match cup to team captain Mark Fuller (Het Financieele Dagblad) of the winning team of Reporters. Rik van den Boog (Ajax) from the Managers team was voted Man of the Match.
